New York has always been the home to many fabulous and influential women in history, politics, business, culture and the arts. In this presentation you will hear about “the” woman who owned her own brokerage firm, ran her own newspaper, was the first woman to address Congress, and ran for President in 1872! You will also learn about the double life of an entertainer who was also a war hero and a symbol of the Civil Rights movement, the fascinating life of the richest woman in New York, the special party held in Gramercy Park hosted by an American aristocrat, the woman who outlived her husband by 50 years and made a name for herself, and many more interesting stories.
Presented by Art & Susan Zuckerman.
