This event will take place in person in the Yeager Community Room located on the lower level of the library.
Love has long been the inspiration for great songs and musical performances. Add a musical couple at the helm, and sparks can really fly! Sometimes these collaborations grow into, and endure as, a brilliant flame. And sometimes they explode, leaving beautiful music (and scorched earth) behind. As a couple of almost 20 years, Kirsten Thien and Erik Boyd relate to the unique power of creating music together as a couple. In this 60-minute program, Kirsten and Erik share some of their favorite songs from musical couples such as: Les Paul & Mary Ford, Stevie Nicks & Lindsay Buckingham, John & Yoko, Paul & Linda McCartney, Ike & Tina Turner, and many more.
Presented by: Kristen Thien and Erik Boyd. Kirsten Thien’s unlikely path from a Business School graduate to a Blues and Roots Rock singer/songwriter began just weeks before college graduation when she decided to forgo a career on Wall Street for a life in music. Since then she has released five studio albums and toured the USA, Canada and Europe extensively. Her most recent release, “Two Sides” has enjoyed worldwide radio airplay and held a top 5 position on the Root Music Report Blues Charts for over three months. Erik Boyd is a musician, writer, and producer. He has toured, recorded, or played bass with The Mamas & The Papas, Black 47, Mary Wells, Little Anthony, and many more. In recent years, Erik has played shows in Norway, Germany, Ukraine, and India.
They are a musical couple living in New York City.
