Songbirds of the Fifties: A Musical Salute to Patti Page and Doris Day
Saturday, September 14 | 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join us for a road trip on the Interstate of time back to the fabulous fifties. For many it was an era of hope and security. Ike was President, cars were big and gas was cheap. Two of the leading ladies on the radio were Patti Page and Doris Day. During your journey, you will hear hits by these iconic artists, including Tennessee Waltz and Que Sera Sera, and parts of their personal stories to bring their music and their era to life.
Diane Cypkin has worked in the theatre as both a singer and actor in shows at the Soho Repertory Theatre, the New York Theatre Workshop, the Jan Hus Playhouse, and the Three Muses Theatre. She is presently Professor of Media, Communication, and Visual Arts at Pace University.
