Libraries Rock! The 2018 Summer Reading Program
Monday, June 25 - Saturday, August 25 | ongoing
The 2018 Summer Reading theme: Libraries Rock!
There’s something for every age, from infants to teens, with programs, prizes, family events and more. This year’s theme, Libraries Rock!, will have everybody heading to the library with their dancing shoes. Register your child or teen at the Children’s Reference desk and be sure to grab your Libraries Rock Summer Reading Folder.
Registration for the 2018 Summer Reading Program starts Monday, June 25th.
By joining the summer reading program, infants, children and teens will have the opportunity to challenge themselves, try new things, and most importantly gain a positive experience with reading and learning all summer long. Reach for the stars through hands-on learning experiences this summer @ the library!
Registration: Register at the children’s reference desk. You will receive a folder with two summer reading time logs.
Reading Log: Your reading log records TIME SPENT READING. Each program is different: Rockin’ Tots, Children’s and Tweens/Teens therefore, time spent reading and prizes will be different for each group.
What books count towards your time spent reading? Library books, books from home, audiobooks, eBooks, magazines—books of any kind!
Grand Prize Basket: Receive a raffle ticket towards the grand prize basket every time you complete THREE HOURS of reading (one row). Drawing will be held at the end of August.
Earn your Summer Reading Certificate. When you complete two reading logs, a total of 24 hours, you will receive a SRG Certificate. But don’t stop reading there! Grab new reading logs and keep earning prizes.
Rockin’ Ice Cream Party Backstage pass: Those who complete TWO reading logs, total of 24 hours, will receive a backstage pass to the Rockin’ Ice Cream Party.
