ELECTRONICS DRIVE TO SUPPORT THE WARTBURG RETIREMENT HOME
Friday, August 23 | 9:30 am - 5:00 pm
Friday, August 23rd in the Burt Gallery
(Sitting area just outside Children’s Room)
Jack Ognibene is a Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop 2 Scarsdale, currently working on his Eagle Scout Project, which is to support the elderly living at the Wartburg Retirement Home in Mount Vernon. Many residing there suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia. One of the most effective treatments to the degenerative symptoms of these diseases is music therapy – exposing those who suffer from the diseases to music from their past in order to activate the hippocampus and make it easier to access memories. To support the growth of a music therapy program at the Wartburg, Jack will be holding drives to collect items, such as MP3 players and tablets, so that he may download music onto them and distribute them to those affected there.
ITEMS BEING COLLECTED:
– Gently Used or New MP3 Players (With Chargers), e.g. iPods
– Gently Used or New iPad Tablets (With Chargers)
– New Over-Ear Headphones
– Music CDs (New or Used)
He will also pick up your donated items if you are not able to make it to the drives.
